Sofia's preschool puts on a Circus every year and the kids each take part in a "play" of sorts, acting out different circus characters. Sofia played the part of the "Timid Monkey" who had to be coaxed out of her cage with cookies by the ring leader.
Since our c-section date was pushed back from May 30th to June 3rd, we were able to attend her performance and celebrate our 5 year anniversary with a movie and sushi later that afternoon!
Rodolfo took a solo trip down to Sherman Oaks to visit 3 week old Baby Willow this weekend while Sofia and Mommy stayed home to recover from their colds. Hopefully we'll get to go with him next time!
We took Sofia to the "slushie place" (aka TGIFridays) and finally told her the news - that she was going to be a BIG SISTER! To this she replied, "We should name her Sofia!" Daddy said, "Do you think that would be confusing? Every time we called Sofia who would answer?" And Sofia replied, "We can call her Sofia Baby!" She also asked where the baby would sleep. We told her we were going to borrow Auntie Pam's Bassinet - the same one she slept in for her first few months. Sofia thought it would be better if the new baby slept in her bed with her! At the end, Daddy asked Sofia, "Do you have any questions for us?" and Sofia replied, "yeah, uh, can I watch my show when I get home?" All in all, Sofia is quite excited about becoming a Big Sister!
I'm going to yell it from the mountain tops, "I'm going to have a BABY SISTER!"
On Sunday February 3rd at approx. 6:10pm, Willow Consolo Phillips was born! She weighed in at 7lbs 9oz and has lots of dark brown hair! Mom (Auntie) Claudine is doing fine and baby and Mommy should be going home on Tuesday! Dad (Uncle) Patrick is recovering nicely as well! :)
Nonna was there for the birth and Grandpa took these pictures on Monday when Willow was just one day old! We think she looks like her big cousin Sofia!
